Guppies Gone Down Under!

Return to Aussieland with Porkchop :P

Yeah , it was time. Time to go back, back to where my adventures with porkchop began, back to the good old uni days when all we had to do was go to uni..sit in on tutorials and never have to worry about work, jobs , bills etc etc.
We both took 10 days off work , and i managed to find us some el cheapo tix on Budget airline - tiger airways to Perth ! Hahaha will let the pics do the talking
We arrived early at the budget terminal ...heres porkchop with our lil suitcases ..round about 15 mins into the queue to check in I suddenly realised I HAD FORGOTTEN TO APPLY FOR MY ETA Visa! - bloody australia needed a visa to enter! aaargh! with just 30 mins to boarding time,..i scrambled to call the whole world to help me apply for visa online while porkchop tried to get online on his notebook at the airport
i COULD SMELL IT! It was porkchops deliberate ploy to ditch me at the airport and go back to perth himself! beat beat beat~! i was so busy planning everything and busy with work , busy packing for us both, busy reminding him about his re-entry permit into singapore that i completely forgot i needed a visa to enter australia! aaaaa!!! i could kick myself!
Eventually it was chookie to the rescue ! She managed to find me a UK based website that garuantees instant visas to australia ..so she helped me apply and paid for the visa ! WE LOVE CHOOKIE!!! finally we managed to check in unscathed ...Here i am camwhoring with the facemask that tracie got me from her trip to Vietnam last week..hehehe i wanted to wear it on the plane but porkchop said no. BOOOOOOO!!! Here is porkchop -- feeling the reality of a budget airline and budget airport terminal sinking into his senses -- hahaha yes at the budget terminal...they dont put chairs at the waiting room...so we can all feel all budgety and poor...
stupid idea..shoot those budget terminal planning folks

we finally boarded our plane and porkchop settled down to reading his newspapers...napping and gernally doing porkchoppy boring things...Meanwhile i was bored shitless ., there was no movie, there was no food...i eventually spent SGD 24 bucks on snacks, crappy croissants, crappy chips, crappy macadamia nuts 2 bottles of diet coke...read through 3 magazines . and worked my PSPS till my thumbs ached..for 5 hrs straight
i could not sleep on this crampy plane...why! why did i pick budget airline? for this long flight!
I hate flying anywhere that neeeded more than 2 hours flight time
aaaaa!!!
Finally we arrived at Perth International Airport at around 10pm...and porchop and i wasted no time ...we headed straight for RED ROOSTER bbq chicken and grabbed ourselves some much needed MAKAN!
mmmmmm i miss red rooster chicken...and mostly i miss chicken salt on my fries...
Porkchop then went to hunt for our rented car...he eventually booked a 60 buck a day mitsubishi lancer for 10 days ..JOY JOY
Check out the lancer.. big fat car...with auto transmission ...hahahah porkchop was not very sure about driving an auto car..but he refused to let me drive it

HHAHAHAH too bad then...i like being driven around by my men...proceed...and pls dont let me know even if u got lost ahhahaathe road from the airport into town had no street lighting...hahahah such a familiar feeling...i almost forgot how swa teng perth is...i miss perth man..
Finally we got into town ...and started to make out way to Porkchop's parents place in Como south perth...

Turned 33 last week ( Part 2)

Batam Bummin Bliss!

Yep if you havent noticed by now, im backlogged . and bad.
HAHAHA this entry is actually on a holiday i took with moo , kulcha on my actual birthday itself 14th August...

Yep we went on a trip to Batam :D , took the friday off coz its mah birthday , and headed out to the indonesian island of Batam for some massage, avocado juice and nice R & R . I tell you my happie gupsters, it was a trip filled with **Kwaa Kwaa** sound efx moments...but i think with moo and kulcha by my side. it was a really fun one :)

neeways :
The morning started with mince pork noodles at redhill with kulcha , mmm he wasnt feeling in tip top condition , had a slight cold. but was still game enough to carry on with our horliday plans! we then headed off to Harbourfront Centre to meet up with Moo! where we collected our ferry tickets and headed out to macdonalds for some quick snacks while we waited for boarding time :P
Moo mom made Ang Ku Kueh!!! super shiok! wore this pink erm badge on the way into Batam :P on the ferry... **kwa kwa**at macdonalds , yes moo's wonderful idea.... Here we go here we go here we go! Alan took this ncie photo of me and moo! ..as we snacked on macdonalds while waiting for the time to board our ferry
Are we there yet ? :S ...dying of boredom on the supposedly short ferry ride to batam.. it definitely was more than 35 mins! **kwa kwa**Finally we arrived at the waterfront city Jetty ...yeah guppies look cool in aviator shades muahahaha too bad it started to rain ,,,,and the sun went to hide..grrrr
moo - relieved to be on the minibus that would bring us to our home - Holiday Inn :DAlan - "where is the beach ah? "
We arrived at our spanking cool suite at the Holiday Inn, it comes with living room, two bathrooms, one shared kitchen area .We took the suite with adjoining rooms - one room had a double bedthe other room had 2 single beds . SWEEEEET!!!
Then we wasted no time, booked ourselves a nice cab and made our way into town...moomoo says : "I wanna see the bridge! i wanna buy tissue paper! i wanna buy toilet paper! i want!!!!! "Kulcha : " I see golf courses!!"im so cuuutee lor" cries staffy! " i love guppy guppy is my goddess!"A & W was our first meal when we reached batam -- **kwa kwa**A&W Waffles were highly anticipated but somehow lacked that oomph..it was too crispy :(chippies, chickpeas, water, toilet paper, tissues... we shopped for groceries in matahari , at nagoya hill mall
After shopping, we stopped by Salon Eska, and got ourselves some el cheapo massage -- Moo and Kulcha got themselves a SGD 9 bucks for foot reflexology ( 60 mins) , while i bot myself some full body massage SGD 19 bucks for (60 mins) it was the ultimate highlight of our kwaa kwaa day.
Then it was on to dinner at 933 Golden Prawn restaurant... which to our dismay despite the hype served up teeny tiny prawns!?!!!!!
soooooo small and tiny these prawns :P ..at least they were fresh and sweet!
tiny sweet prawns...tiny tiny hae bees
check this out.,..the tiniest craw claws id eaten in my entire life! it was the size of a spooon!!!!!!!
Lotus prawns ....and veggies stirfried in garlic
Then i wanted a nice group shot of our awesome threesome. alas Kulcha sez cannot take pics in groups of 3 , so staffy joined us for this photoshoot muahahaha! thank goodness we brought staffy out with us!
one more time! say " these prawns are too tineeeyyyyyy!"
We also managed to catch up with my Indonesian cousin, Amir...its been too long ! Cousin Amir brought us to Vista Hotel ,where he bought us all drinks at a cool lounge/pub perched on top of a hill , overlooking batam citycheck out the views~! Moo and Kulcha...chilling outa live band called Cosmo was playing at this lounge not too shabby at all ...i love the toilet signage at Vistaanother classic **kwa kwa** moment. we ended up vegetating with cable tv waiting for the right time to board the ferry home...

Before we knew it, we spent 2 days and 1 night at Batam,.. it was time to go home ! moo took one last shot...too bad we could not do a group shot as we were rushing to board the ferry home :P ...all in all it was an interesting adventure out at batam...very **kwa kwa** but still. FUN!
