Yeah it was good to be back in Perth again
It was a much needed break, we didnt plan alot of activities, there was an initial idea to head off down south towards margaret river, check out the vinyards, or go to pemberton and do the tree top walk ...eventually we did none of that. we just simply spent time with family, revisited all our old haunts...places we used to go to while we were still 2 poor uni students .
I took so many pictures..hahaha of places that may seem..well boring and no big deal to many, but for those of you who have been with us a decade ago, living the life here, even the local 24 hour macdonalds brought back memories...made me feel melancholic. hahaha i dunno , its a warm fuzzy feeling, so i shant bore u with too much rambling here.. i shall just share some of the highlights of the first 5 days of my trip ( we spent 10 days in perth,,,so yes part 2 is coming up..yes im way behind in my blog )
Ok here we go
Highlights of little guppy's perth adventures!.. in no particular order ...
the raw ingredients are ready to be cooked!
Porkchop studies the menu and eventually ends up with...a huge warm, CHOCOLATE LIQOUR drink muahahahaha

- Ok this is more of a low light, Perth was at the end of winter. but i thought it was already spring...so i packed light thin summer clothing. and yeah you guessed it, i was the only one strutting about in short sleeved tees, shorts, no jackets. in temperatures ranging from high as 18degrees in the day till 4 degrees freezing in the night. it was nuts!
- It was a house filled with colours and art! Porkchop's parents house is a small but beautiful townhouse situated in Como, south Perth. As Porkchops mom loves every colour in the rainbow , while his aunt is an art teacher...its not surprising this house is filled with all sorts of colourful nick nacks, and little random works of art ...
- the xmas decor still around the house. they never took it down, and intend to continue to use it when xmas comes round in another few months time..hahahah Our bedroom for the next 10 daysrandom art
- Relaxing stroll by the riverside @ Millpoint. we held a special luncheon at CoCos a good restaurant by this river. A pair of black swans were just gliding by Porkchop and I used to just run around town to various duck ponds, and this mill point area just feeding bread to the wild life, the ducks, swans waterbirds...its just therapeutic ..and oh come on, arent they pretty?
We hung around till night fall. before heading to the nearby boatshed cafe for some cake and warm chocolate - We bought scratchies! Lots and lots of scratchies , bought alot home for friends as well , it was a weekly indulgence when we were in uni, and dreamt of suddenly stumbling into BIG CASH WINNINGS a short shopping stint at the hay street mall.. Porkchop and his mom trying their hand at the scratchies...
even the fruit basket in the kitchen has colour screaming at you from all angles .v.v.nice!
- The great Australian Barbeque !
Porkchop's mom and aunt planned a barbeque gathering overthe first sunday of our stay .this is the barbeque area., a backyard garden tucked away behind the colourful town house in the middle of como,
cousin Jemma and Anderson came by with their partners and i could not believe it, the last time i saw Jemma and Anderson, they were wee kids, playing with their playstations, now they are young adults out of uni, and already with partners of their own. ..my how they've grown!
the raw ingredients are ready to be cooked!
Avocado oil!finally real meat! meat meat meat!lotsa wine, ice wine, sauvignon , merlots etc etc , porkchops mommy has expensive wine tastes ...i say YAY for all of us hip hip hooray hahahahmore scratchies fun! Jemma tries her hand at scratching for a winner!desserts was magnum ice cream and chocolates!
Me enjoying a nice sticky date pudding dessert , while feeling the cool ocean breeze listening to the waves rushing in...BLISSSafter the barbeque gathering, we went to the retirement village to visit porkchops grandmother!
- Meeting Porkchops Nanna once again after so many years...she is still strong and fiesty as ever despite her 85 years ..mmmm there is a marked difference, though but still she is very very alert.
- grabbing a bite of Hommus - my favourite yum yum at a local middle eastern kebab shop, porkchop and i were shell shocked that the hommos with dipping bread dish we ordered...actually meant Hommus with GIANT HUMONGOUS Baked Pita bread
- We went to Marapana Wildlife park, an hour and a half drive out of town, Porkchop and I used to frequent this wildlife park. because we love to feed the animals there
porkchop talks to roos ...roo whisperer

- Lowlight of the week, A dented back bumper --- Porkchop backed the rental car into a pillar while parking to get some stuff out of a local deli for me ...ouch...this will put a dent in our holiday budgets
- Half priced waffles Tuesday at GELARE! yAY! too bad they shut down the entire chain of gelares in Singapore...porkchop and i had our fill of this super delicious yum yum every opportunity we had on this trip
- Fish and Chips at Clancy's Fish Pub in Melville !Check out the seafood platter for 2 we ordered hahahah it came with the chilli mussels above...happie gupsters if u do get to perth for whatever reason, you should try out this yummy fish joint ,with the happy decor n the fresh seafood...its cheap and to die for! 55 bucks! for this huge platter Im Happie with mah platter mauhahahahaha
- Return to Cottesloe beach one of the most beautiful beaches i had ever seen. and ive seen many beaches...the sand ..is so white...and fine...the waters...they are so blue...the skies are almost always clear...its got enough man made surroundings, and buildings to grant you creature comforts ...yet still leaves you in awe of the magnificence of the blue ...that is this gorgeous ocean! This beach holds a special meaning to porchop and me...we did something silly here on this beach almost 10 years ago ;) heheheh pants got wet..it was freezing cold...yes looks sunny but its still winter....hahhaa but i still had to get my feet into the waterIndiana Cafe...still around after over 10 years.

Whoah, what did you feed the kangaroo, it died... lol, just kidding. I really miss the Australian barbecue we had when we visited the country. I liked eating them on the outback where the feel is like we were cowboys and cowgirls. I really miss the country and I hate it that I had to go away to work. Wish I was there like you guys.
