Bangkok Bummin Bliss - Day 2

Shopping and Eating Madness Continues!

After the dramatic flooding of Suan Lom markets due to the rains, we hit the sack pretty early the night before ...on Sunday morning, Everyone woke up early to enjoy the buffet breakkie at the service hotel's cafe. Mmmm not bad, usual eggs, sausages, pasta, paad thai, waffles. breads, dimsums the works.

After breakfast, we wasted no time, Today is another BIG SHOPPING DAY --> we headed straight for the Chatuchak Market by taxi! when we arrived, It was hot, it was humid, there was a funky smell all around...but it was a shopaholic;s paradise.

As ususal, i took lotsa pics and will let the pics do all the talking :D enjoy :

Entering into the maze of many shops that make up the insanity that is Chatuchak Markets... there were many stalls selling hundreds of different products, from clothing, to shoes, to leather goods, to toys, to food, i could not name it all,..Tracie and I went mad shopping and bargaining up a storm ..the more we bought , the more we wanted to buy..it was a vicious cycle... pot plants on sale...lotus flowers in a pot...v nice

we stumbled onto this genuine cow hide leather shop, where i bought my biggest splurge - a nice cow hide leather handbag..which cost me around 1800 baht which is around 70 SGD. super duper expensive buy but soo very nice to smell and hold. I love genuine leather...could not help myself Yes then it was more shopping...it was so hot and humid..that we were all soaked through with perspiration before we even did half of the markets. It was insane.

Super shopper Tracie. bought everything in mutliples...example 2-3handbags at one go., 100 voodoo doll key chains. etc etc too many to decribe here. and she boughtmostly stuff for other people she knew... Chatuchak was copy bag heaven...i was strangely attracted to these pinkish Juicy couture bags..but ofcourse i didnt buy them ...duh ... but i bought me a cute lesportsac copy canvas sling bag instead.

exhausted from the heat, it was time to let the older auntie and uncle sit down, rest their feet and enjoy some colddrinks before we make our way out of this maze.

Exhausted and happie Auntie and Tracie...why are they smiling?

Because we bought bags and bags of lots of bags...and clothes...

After humid chatuchak, we returned to the hotel to drop off our loot, get a quick shower and change of clothes before we headed out again to a more upmarket climate controlled mall - Siam Paragon!

First - we had some authentic Thai lunch!

i love the decor of this restaurant..the thing isall the restaurants and food areas at Siam Paragon make everything look so pretty and delicious. you just want to spend jhours exploring all the different food stalls and eat till you drop!

The 4 of us enjoying a nice relaxing comfortable lunch..,.

Group shot of the adventurous 4some on tour...hahahah. After lunch, Tracie and I took the opportunity to explore the mall on our own while Auntie and Uncle went for a slow stroll on their own. we arranged to rendezvous in an hours time .

Our exploration of Siam paragon ( at faster speed ) meant we were able to unearth even greater cooler finds! Tracie posing with Giant Ramen bowl outside one of the many exciting restaurants that opened up at Siam Paragon!

We spotted Siam Ocean World!!! a few of the ocean world mascots, like the turtle, shark stingrays and fish were out and about shaking the hand of kiddies...Tracie helped me chase down the sharkie, we shooed away all the surrounding kids and she took a pic of me with this cute shark! sooo happie ! Thank you tracie!
Didnt get to visit Ocean World though, as there was much too much shopping to be done. will make a visit to Siam Ocean World on my next trip ...damn!
Simply irresistable!....Tracie spotted another shop selling these colourfully designed bean paste dessert things...that were artfully shaped into the shape of colourful fruit!

and heres Tracie doing more shopping...spa aromatherapy stuff...oooooooooo

We finally gathered all our shopping, and wanted to head off to anther mall called Central world...but alas..Uncle was physically exhausted ( he's over 80 so its already no mean feat he has covered so much ground with us.) we decided to head back to the hotel to drop off our shopping loot, and allow uncle to take a rest instead.

At the hotel..while waiting for Auntie to settle uncle down, i took a pic of tracie making a call having a chat with Anthon..awww so lovey dovey..

Did i get any calls ? Did any one miss me? Noooooooooooooooooooo *sulk* no not even one lousy little sms.

After the tiny break, Auntie , Tracie and I headed straight for Suan Lom Market , Uncle stayed behind to nap in his room instead.

We arrived a wee bit too early ..it was supposed to be a night Bazaar hahaha yap as you can see from the pic. its not even nightfall yet...we had an hour more to kill so we booked ourselves an hour long Thai foot reflexology and body massage instead,. happie guppy feet about to be pampered

auntie says- eh not too hard..im afraid of the pain...

our massage therapists after massage itwas ON TO MORE INSANE shopping...we covered every corner of suan lom...but i tell you the mood was not as high as Chatuchak...we did buy some stuff but not as much as in Chatuchak.. too many arty farty stalls here selling pretty expensive stuff...the other stuff that was more on the budget side. we already saw in chatuchak earlier in the day.

After some so-so thai local street food dinner, Tracie and her Auntie decided to head back to MBK mall to try to get some last min purchases ...i was too exhausted so i headed back to the hotel for some shut eye instead..

check out our totall shopping looot tally hahahahah

This is Tracies total loot - YES she is still the undisputed shopping queen...

While this here is the guppy's humble little shopping loot...yes I FOUND NEMOS ahhaha and pink seahorse...all perfect for my little backseat ofthe car fish tank project muahahaha

The next day it was time to catch a flight back to Singapore...bye bye Bangkok city...sigh
