It all started with a box of Romeo and Juliets. * giggles*

Such decadence! After the King of all Cigars, Cohibas, this was like the next best thing, and this lil guppy has a whole box of it too...mmmmm the guppy curiousity was piqued! excitedly i rounded up the usual suspects :the "EVERYTHING MUST TRY ONCE GANG" !

" But where could we indulge this madness? " wails the guppy.. "Surely losing one's virginity with a Cigar deserves a more elegant location ? Shall we do it at a poseur lounge like Davidoff? or huddled outside some silly pub ? NO! this deserves some quiet, classy relaxed environment , paired with yummy liquor! "

"hubby says can do at our place la!" declared Tracie

and so it was - WE REALLY INDULGED over the weekend at the K-lounge ( a tastefully decorated, airconditioned smoker friendly casa de Kiongs together with their 8 cats and big fierce doggy ) hee hee.

Ofcourse it wouldnt be a party without lotsa food!

Anthon n Tracie broke out the CAVIAR , Strawberries, Cold cut platter, bread, Port , Rose wine, Martini and Cheese they brought back from Margaret River..

And Moomoo? yea she brought KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN lor HAHAHAHAH

Guppies brought along an all time favourite Strawberry shortcake from Sun Moulin .

Moomoo : " errrrrr no thanks not smoking. I just drink...MORE MARTINI PLEASE!"

Yep. It was a nice evening of eating, boozing and smoking.
But i didnt get high from the booze alcoholic content not high enough to overcome our eartery clogging fatty KFC chicken ...and I didnt get high from the smokes either .

THE VERDICT : CIGARS ARE OVER-RATED BIG TIME!!!!

CHAMPION COMMENT OF THE NIGHT : " Economy so bad , can only eat cheap food, so we only eat bread , soup and caviar every night "

yeap it was great to be in the company of friends relaxing in their home. eating up all their food. nwaing on their couch. hee hee .Nice.

On a seperate latest update more like a footnote to myself so i remember :
Yes Ive dropped someone along the way this week . With lotsa help from the person itself . But i doubt it will be much of a loss for anyone. Nobody likes unpleasant encounters , after over 2 years of contact , really not a single extra second of precious time should continue to be wasted. i thought i would mourn, but oddly I didnt .

Part of me wishes, that the hurt would be acknowledged and fixed. but most of me knows. some things cant be changed. The self obsessed can only see and feel for themselves.

This page will serve as a reminder - of how "a beautiful friendship" becomes bullshit ..when a friendship becomes, unbalanced. when one party takes another for granted.

Ive lost count of how many times i try to say something, but you were not listening, you would reply with another question on a totally different topic , or you would dismiss my statement and carry on with your own one man show commentaries.

on the last day i met you, i really wanted to share with you what i discovered may be wrong with my car. i did not even have the chance to finish my sentence, before you started talking about your drinking session - yep doubt you even heard me speak

I miss the good old days where you would listen to what i have to say .
I miss the good old days where you would actually be interested in one simple little guppy's adventures.


You cant have a friendship with your service provider
I miss the times we would go out to see fishies. drive around. do stuff. How did calls to go out for ice- cream, go hang out together, ...translate into calls to borrow the car, hitch a ride. how could WE let a whole month go by, where each time you made contact , all you wanted to do was hitch a ride, or borrow my ride? no small talk, no coffee, no dinner, no."how's life." nothing ? straight to business --> a ride.

When i am driving. i cant see your face when we talk.
When i am driving. i cant talk to you either . because you are on the phone. on the black berry.
When i am driving i cant talk to you , because you are telling me about alll those other more exciting people and places you are dying to go meet and spend time with


You cant have a friendship with someone who doesnt believe in you.
I dont need to take a poll , Im sure everyone including you will agree with me. We dont associate with people we think are losers.

I dont need to take a poll, Im sure everyone will agree-- you had no right to say that I suck at my job -- nor did you have a reason to.

Hiding nastiness, meanness, and the bolstering of a flaccid ego behind the flag of truth. thats just cowardly. and doing yourself, and my friendship and love for you a great disservice.


You cant have a friendship with someone who thinks you are a no-lifer, who thinks everyone else out there is better.

You may be able to have numerous frivolous friendships and acquaintences. Guppies are choosy . We have acquired the taste for honesty , sincerity , love and kindness. There is no value to a Louis Vuitton statement handbag if it was cheap, and freely available .

Its hard not to notice and compare all the so called fun "exciting " things that you have been doing these months VS the sharp decline in our lunches, dinners, and outings.

Its hard not to notice all the announcements you have made to inform me-more exciting folks are back from 6 months overseas work stints and compare that with the earlier few months that you did have more time for me.

Its hard not to think - my time is up. thanks for the space and time filler service.

I respected and treasured our friendship, enough to tell you whats wrong. But if you cant accord my love and friendship with the same levelof respect and love it deserves then there is no loss on both sides

I imagined that perhaps you were miserable at work . that was why you chose to make sweeping statements about my work to put me down.

I imagined that perhaps you were miserable at home, that was why you chose to party your nights away like some mid-life crisis old man in search of lost youth.

and when you claimed that it wasnt like what i had imagined -- i can only draw one conclusion :
You did mean every single hurtful statment you have made. You Do think that everyone else is better , more interesting and more worthy of your time than me.

The truth = is all in the above. in all its ugly glory.
You do not treat me. the same way I treat you.
You do not understand the word friendship.

When the hurt is gone. there will be nothing more left to say except - I accept the distance you have placed between us.

There was only one sane thing to do. Jump into the pool !

Apart from cooling off and playing with an insane amount of inflatble pool toys, i learnt something interesting from one smart cookie that day :

If you want to learn to play the piano badly. ( and your parents have not given their ok) just go around declaring loudly to your parents friends how much you enjoyed your piano class. And that you are going for more classes again next week .

Yup -thats a sure fire way to get mom and dad's attention !

Yes i did miss you. had it really been 6 months? What to do? theres just so many distractions :P But Im glad we managed to catch up today :D

My goodness me they are so huge! mmmmm juicy fresh and deliciously yummy!we ate so much oysters tonight.. I think we almost overdosed!check it out the oysters were so huge they were bigger than our crab!My favourite! the CLAW!!!!!And to top it all off, you even bought me crabs cooked in salted egg yolk ... Awwww thank you for this decadent dinner babe!

Hhaaha lets keep our fingers crossed -- that we wont experience episodes of "revenge of the seafoods"

AGAIN AGAIN LETS DO THIS AGAIN! Only this time, lets avoid the shellfish...somehow the little fish in me thinks we cant possibly get away with all this decadence without paying the price! somewhere out there is another giant crab or oyster waiting to eat me...i just know it :P

Assisi Hospice Charity Fun Day!

It was a HOT and HUMID day!

The date : Saturday 2 May 2009
The occassion : The ASSISI HOSPICE CHARITY FUN DAY!
(a.k.a guppy's first time volunteering her time and labour to raise funds!)
The task : to raise funds by selling foods at a booth at this event!

Actually it was the brainchild of one of my colleagues at work, and the rest of us thought it was a great idea and signed up without a 2nd thought hee hee . We had a hard time deciding what to make, cook and sell at the event , each time we had an idea, the organiser told us someone else was already doing it, so we had to come up with something new.

Eventually, we decided to make home made local desserts to sell at this event . we settled on these food stuffs , Steamed sweet potatoes, Green Bean soup, steamed corn, Tau Suan(yellow mung beans) , beancurd and barley , plus Herbal Tea Eggs!

The day began at 730am ( for this guppy, as i cant cook for nuts, the food was to be prepared by the other volunteers in our group hee hee i think they would've woken up like wee hours of the morning to start cooking! ) :

signages were already up on the gates of the venue : sponsored by St Joseph's Institution International , along Thomson road. **Incidentally -- for those not in the know..SJI Institution now stands on what was formally known as Thomson Secondary school...my old secondary school ...hee hee i spent 4 years in this place when i was just a wee kid...eeeks! talk about deja vu! **

there were over 100 booths at this event!

everybody was busy setting up their booths, no time to lose , crowds will start streaming in at 9!

OF COURSE it was not all work and no play for this little guppy...i went about exploring the different booths and did my part to contribute in the monetary way too...i bought close to 70 bucks ful of vouchers to spend at the event, there was so much to eat, drink and play at the fair...this is a pic of me giving it a shot at the booze lucky dip booth..5 dollar per dip, u get a chance to win a bottle of expensive spirit.. but alas all i won was --a can of beer...boooo!!!

we were there from 730...all the way ...the crowds started streaming in from 9am onwards and by about close to 4pm we were left with just these few bowls of green bean! and some dough sticks which we wrapped up and sold cheaply off! hoooray!!

Who blew 10 bucks at our little booth heehee .... actually My mom, dad and Yarryl came by in the morning to support the booth too, and leekheng also came to support but by the time she reached the event late in the afternoon , we had completely sold out and i left for home :P THANKS FOR COMING GUYS!!!!

End of the day -- lets count our earnings!!! HOW MUCH DID WE RAISE?

WAH!!! so many coupons!!!

COUNTING...counting...counting.... TOTAL HAUL -- $438 bucks! and we sold out! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!~

heh check out our own shopping,,,,yes ofcourse we need to patronise every other stall there! duh!

By the time i got home, i was exhausted, hot, sweat and totally sun burnt like a piggy but i still had time to take pics of my cool shopping haul

$15 --brand new seal stuffed toy ..bought for chookie...

ASSISI Hospice teddy bear which moomoo bought for me -$20 cash donation plus monthly pledge of $10 per month for 12 months -- we LOVE MOOOMOO! 2nd hand novels at $1 each and pretty hand made earrings at $5 -$8 each!

In all it was a HOT HUMID but fun day! Im glad i hopped on the bandwagon and volunteered to help man the booth. it was a great experience. Im glad we managed to raise funds for a worthy cause. But I cant help wondering -- wouldnt it be easier for me to just write a check for $500 bucks ? wouldnt it be easier ( but less fun) than manning a booth for one entire day ?
