Another E.M.T.O Gang Adventure !

It all started one sunday evening after badminton with Kulcha, we were headed towards Pasir Panjang to hunt for food and along the way drove under this magnificent wavey bridge! (which i later learnt after googling that she was the Henderson Waves) Neeways my curiousity was piqued , and the itch to check it out grew too unbearable and so i emailed the E.M.T.O Gang .

Guppy memo : "Hear ye Hear ye for the benefit of - Kulcha who we shall start an initiation ceremony for during this activity - E.M.T.O - stands for Everything Must Try Once We've done Wakeboarding!We've done Clay shooting! Next!!!! This guppy is proposing we conquer the 9KM Southern Ridges! "

Moo Moo memo : " Sister, Bacha & I have been talking about this for a while – just wondering if YOU really wanna do tis. Am good to walk the 9km – u sure u wanna? LOL Now that you’ve volunteered….NO TURNING BACK AH!!!!!!"

Kulcha Memo : "There is no turning back, your asston wont be able to rescue u haha"

Ochayo Memo : " 24 oct is good for us! Picnic basket?? "

Guppy Memo : "Ochayo....you are carrying the basket everywhere the full 9km issit? :S Kulcha you dont all talk no action okay...u better turn up...even if u have to gayly carry an umbrella.. i will close both eyes...hahahah... likely will drag tropical pig to this adventure...he likes these tree jungle walk around things..."

and then there was talk of lugging a trolley, astronaut umbrellas, more picnic baskets. lugging of professional camera equipments...shooting of deserters who may want to attempt to run away from this hike.... it just went on and on and on...but eventually.

And 6 shall come forward for this Quest!

YES on the 24th October at 245pm on a blistering HOT and humid Saturday afternoon the 6 of us gathered...at HORT PARK. The beginning point of this madcap adventure!

Kulcha really gayly brought along a huge 7 eleven brolly and SUNBLOCK OMG! our dearest Anthon lugging his rainbow colored straw bag holds on tight to Kulcha as they both strike a pose. Here we go Here we go Here we go...and yes the 2 steam chickens ventured out on this quest under the protection of the magical 7 eleven brolly
I experienced inspiration, awe, excitement, then heart sinking regret when i saw the huge metal brige structures...oh my gawd WE ARE GONNA HIKE ALLL THE WAY UP ?!? where? Trudge trudge trudge ...

Guppy : " moan moan #%%&&vmoan..."
Guppy :" are we there yet ?"

Guppy :" somebody just shoot me now" moan moan moan oh my gawd WE ARE GONNA HIKE ALLL THE WAY UP ?!? where?

Finally we reached our first pitstop..where i realised moomoo and Ochayo brought along BIG ice filled buckets of WATER! and they were lugging them around?! While the men were walking ? huh ?

after we rehydrated ourselves , caught our breaths and cooled off..It was time for more CAMWHORING!

Onward we shall march on our quest! Henderson Waves Sighted!!! but how do we get on it? grrrrrrr!!! got more to walk walk walk walk!

Dunno what to make of this two...i think the heat really got to Anthon. he was ....abit nuts...when it comes to posing for the guppy cam wah! another super saleable pic..ch-ching! But seriously i only noticed that Kulcha was even more steamed chicken whiter than moo. Goodness. is that even possible? I am convinced. sun and sand...mmmm not suitable for this two to holiday...they might cook...shrivel and burn under direct sunlight...hahahahah lucky for gay 7eleven umbrella

We finished the Henderson waves then paused to get our bearings...

A decision was finally made - we shall hike up Mt faber, and go grab a lil snack at the Jewel Box...

The road is long....it was a looong journey uphill to get to the top of mt faber where ice cream , ice cold bear, ice cold colas, and sweets await our motley crew... Ochayo...cam whoring ....such a colourful nice view... I want that pink hat! aaaa!

And now for the journey backto Hort Park where we parked our rides..grrrr i tried real hard to convince the gang that taxis are our friends...but nobody would listen...they all wanted to hike the entire return journey back...boooooo!!!!!

Luckily there was an Ice cream vendor by the roadside on the journey back...Guppies love ice cream!!! that cheered us all up and momentarily distracted this little guppyfrom the RETURN JOURNEY OF DOOM!

By now the evening sun was setting...it was still pretty warm but it was finally not BURNING hot...gosh...definitely more bearable

We took a couple of short cuts....down frightfully high and steep flights of metal stairways...Guppies are afraid of heights...so porkchop had to hold her haand and stand in front of her as we went down...

Alllmost there! will we make it?

YESH WE DID.......

We finally made it back to HORT park ALIVE...just in time as the evening sun sets and the sky gets dimmer.... Ochayo happi;ly posing with some giant fruit thing...

We did well guys!!!! Although we didnt do the full 9kms it was still a worthwhile and eye opening journey!

Choo Choo Train Adventure With Moo Moo!

Malaysia Boleh?!?

It all began a couple of weeks back when moo shared with me over an msn conversation that she wanted to take the choochoo train to Malaysia -- well because she's never done it before!

That really woke up the adventure bug / everything must try once itch in me , and so when the boss decided to give the whole company a day off on the 19th, we decided that this was too good an opportunity to be missed!

No plan, No schedule, No Itienary, No idea... JUST DO IT!
Guppies love spontaneous fly by the seat of your pants adventures..ahhaha so on Monday morning, me and moo parked ashton at the basement of Fuji Xerox towers...and took a walk to the Tanjong Pagar Train station!

We had no idea what time the train arrives, when it leaves..where it goes to..all we knew was..there was a train that will take us to Johore Bahru Malaysia and it departs from Tanjong Pagar strain station..muahahhah!
here we go here we go here we go... passing through Tanjong Pagar road...to ..where else duh Tanjong Pagar Train Station la! see the smile on the crazy girl's face! I swear she was trembling with excitement ...

cam whoring with roadsigns...yes ..lame but fun! we even waved to the cars who were waiting at the lights...why? BECAUSE WE CAN! :p

Parade of the bumble bees....uh huh...yap.. i noticed this as i was waddling behind moo...

Yay we found the train station after a short walk! and more cam whoring ensued!

funny though...the carpark was rather quiet...and for a train station it was rather..ermmm empty...where is everybody?

carpark attendant saw us camwhoring and wanted in on the action! he actually waved us over and gave us the peace sign...probably thought we were japanese tourists...

moo pointed out to the statue reliefs on the walls of the train station..and said there were words under each statue...excitedly i pointed the guppy cam zoomed in and took many shots...then i realised...duh...all the statues were covered up...in europe they would be naked..with tiny lil willies...duh in Sg / asia i guess everythng has to be covered up ...sigh

no NEKED men statues...hahahahah

When you are spontaneous...u need to be prepared for KWA KWA moments...

kwa kwa is....arriving at the train station just before 11am only to discover that the ONLY AVAILABLE next train leaves at 2pm...and ticket sales only start at 1pm...

no fear....we can always la kopi first...

yes moomoo the next train wont be till 2...and we wont get to JB till 245pm..if we drove or took a cab across the causeway we would b e there already by now...zzzzzzz

"LETS GO SHOPPING LA...somewhere airconditioned come back later at 1.." cries the guppy

"yay, yes ! lets go marina square " - agrees moomoo

and so ..in true kwa kwa fashion....we both hopped into a cab and made our way out of the trainstation back into town to Marina Square shopping mall to kill time

"I am not insane! I am not insane - Malaysia Boleh!!!! choochoo train boleh!" cries the moomoo

we arrived at Marina square and passed by cool signages by Carls Junior burger and could not resist cam whoring! mauhahahah

we finally settled down to coffee, tea and munchies at Dome cafe....sigh feeling totally kwa kwa-ed..

and a big flower on me ...eh there was nothing else to photograph ok.. yes time goes by so slowly..time goes by so slowly...

when we saw passersby in the mall..i couldnt help myself..i will call out at random --" you working today?! awww so poor thing hahahahaha"

eating is a good way to while away the time? sigh...i had malaysia coffeshop food in my head lor...did not expect Dome cafe...at all...ahhahaha

afterfood we went for foot reflexology session at Kenko

some foot pampering before we continue on our adventure across the causeway!!

Then it was back again at the Trainstation! grrrrr this time we were on time, on schedule...and managed to buy ourselves a pair of tickets on the 2pm train outta singapore!

Yes the adventure was back on!

5 sgd dollars per tix...cheap cheap good good!

YES WE ARE CLEARING MALAYSIA IMMIGRATION!!!!!!! - inside tanjong pagar train station...is malaysia immigration, how odd right ?

YA BEFORE SINGAPORE ...while u are still on singapore soil...u clear malaysia immigration.. apparently the train station land belongs to malaysia?!??!?

wa malaysia really boleh sia!

hehehehehehe guppies are excited too!!! so fun to be spontaneous!

we found ourselves seats in the airconditioned cabins and proceeded to do more cam whoring!!!

even managed to convince the ticket inspector to pose for a pic with little guppies while he is checking our tickets ....SUPER JOY!!!!!

We continued on with the journey and soon we arrived at woodlands terminal...the last barrier before we cross over to

Malaysia--- the land of the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVILLLL ..

across the causeway we go!!!!

WE MADE IT!!!!! WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!!

TOUCH DOWN JOHORE BAHRU TERMINAL!!!! muahahahhahahaah!!!! There were a few running themes to our spontaneous choochoo train adventure

"yes yes u did it...can we go shopping now?" cried guppy

crossing the overhead bridget to the nearest big mall across the train station...central mall i think... woooo so many motorbikes parked beside the train station...

We roamed the mall for a few hours...the next train out was supposed to be 7 and tickets were supposed to be available for purchase at 630pm... we had time to kill and shop for stuff :D with ringgit mauahhahahah

guppies bought 2 pairs of shoes from vincci and 2 hello kitty mouse mats...joy joy!

Happiest moment --- BASKIN ROBBINS ICE CREAM!!! CHOCOLATE AND PEANUT BUTTER FLAVOUR for mooo...

I had a dejavu bangkok moment...zzzzzzzzz

didnt buy alot of stuff.everything is technically available back home so moo only bought more chippies and snacks...

we settled down to some portuguese BBQ chicken dinner....it didnt look much and i only loved the gravy...hahaha but it was good grub for hungry guppies

Malaysia Tidak Boleh?

at around 630 we went back to the train station to try to get tix home....but were told the train would be delayed and only available at 730pm...

so we waiteed in front of the only working airconditioning unit in the trainstation...hahahahah

730 came and went..still no train! grrrrr '

it was approaching 8, we were tired, sleepy...and generally sweaty from the humidity...in the end moo moo made a decision -- WE TAKE CAB HOME LAH!

HAHahhaah so we asked around and eventually found out we had to hike all the way to the puteri pan pacific hotel a couple of blocks down the road...where we were supposed to find a bus terminal that had taxis that can take you down to Singapore...

We took a hike to the hotel...but alas! that was not the place...and eventually moo got the hotel to hail us a local cab,....to take us to the bus station...to catch our taxi to singapore ( :S) yes v v v v complicated...

long story short...chooo chooo train journey ended with a shared cab home...with 2 strangers...HAHAHAH i tried to take more pix across the causeway..but customs officials made me delete those pics....booooooooooooooooooooooooooo

All in all I think this was a GREAT adventure...i was exhausted ffrom all the walking and the humidity but ..heheheheheh i love spontaneous nutty adventures!
