My Pet Lump

Bet you're wondering ...what lump ?

And now with this pic of a wall full of baby photos... you must be wondering..

Haha gotcha . No lah Im not pregnant ,.

Actually I was at a gyneacologist's office. Why was i there ? I was there because
  1. I discovered a lump in my breast

  2. I told Tracie about my new pet lumpy - who insisted i get the lump checked out and gave me a long lecture about regular pap smears...yes it was a long lecture over msn. man that girl can type real fast haha
Surprised? Well I surprised myself too.

Im 33 years old, never had a pap smear, never did those women's health checks...why ? because i think its damn embarassing and unatural to have someone go poking my nether regions with a cold metal piece? and i really didnt see the need as I dont have like a gazillion sex partners? heck Im living like a nun now ? Hmm in fact the last time pap smears were discussed it was with my LPG council sisters and at that point till today my thought has always been... heck i dont really wanna know if im sick ??? pfffttt

Anyway, the discovery of Lumpy really freaked me out . I had no mood to focus on work, spent evenings poking and prodding lumpy wondering if it was cancerous a cyst a fibroid or all those horrible horror stories i hear from other girlfriends about people they know.. I poked lumpy so bad , and by today it was all sore and achy.

Fast forward till today . I took Tracie's advice and went to visit this gynea she highly recommended. Not just to check out Lumpy...but also to get all my other womanly parts checked out - according to Tracie's lecture - check for cervical cancer, ovarian cancer yadda yadda yadda..every woman should get one done once a year whether she's sexually active or not yadda yadda yadda.. nuff said.

Finally at 12noon, at the ripe old age of 33, I had my first pap smear!
for the benefit of my male readers or underaged - clueless female readers.. This here is an image of the process of what is known as a Pap smear.

* u snigger...if u are a guy and u reading this..try pokin yr ass with a blunt metal butter knife! zzzzzz*

As i lay on my back, my ankles on the "stirrups" legs spread apart , I felt so vulnerable. Lucky Gynea was a nice cute female , who encouraged me to relax, and didnt laugh at this "virgin" pap smear tester... the whole thing was done in a few mins..and doc got the sample she needed..the results will be mailed to me in 2 weeks time for now im happy to declare.. I STILL HATE PAP SMEARS !!!

After the most uncomfortable nether region poke of my entire life ...came a 2nd poke. In the name of taking Tracie's advice + the fact i had 33 years worth of health to check up on , I ordered an ultrasound.. to check on my ovaries , uterous etc. Doc announced an internal ultrasound and before I could question --Internal? ... a 2nd scanning stick was shoved into me again :P yuck yuck yuck

But Whoah i could see ultra sound pix on a mini tv screen beside the bed ( like the ones girlfriends get when they are pregnant..to see their developing foetuses) except images of my inside show an empty oven :P heheheheh -- happy to report , the guppy womb is happy, guppy ovaries and uterus , fallopian tubes all healthy . HOORAY!!!!

So What about the real reason why i decided to visit a gynea in the first place ?

What about Lumpy?

Doc took one look at my lumpy, poked it a little and declared it an inflamed sweat gland -much like a huge acne or pimple, prescribed me antiseptic cream and sent me home :P

Major pffffftttt but yes I am one super relieved guppy.

And now the 2 week wait for the pap smear test results...

So my happy gupsters ...have you had your pap smear ? did you remind the women you love around you to go get their health checked out ? It sucks ...but yeah get that Pap smear..TODAY!

All That Jazz!

Some girls have all the luck....

And one of these girls is Bijoux!

Yes indeedy, Bijoux won a pair of tickets to watch this musical production at the Esplanade theatre and she brought this little guppy along! *joy joy*

We could not believe our luck, a couple of months back, we were trawling though the sistic website, to see if we could buy a pair of tickets to watch this show together, but the tickets within our price budget were completely sold out! so we gave up the idea altogether....the next thing Bijoux knew, she found out she won a piar of tix through the Kinokuniya bookstore lucky draw *hooray*

What are the odds right? ( and i scratch my head each time this happens to Bijoux, the contest she won for an all expenses paid trip to Korea for a holiday? ????? no wonder i am balding!)

I picked Bijoux up from her office at 630 pm and we reached the Esplanade Theatre at 7pm ..there was no time to loose we had less than 1 hour to eat!

Without hesitation , we headed for the "Simply Peranakan" restaurant Where Bijoux treated me to a yummy Peranakan cuisine dinner! - Ayam buah Keluah, Tofu , and Ngoh Hiang ( 5 spice poweder sausages) ate till we were sooo full...hahaha

After dinner, we made our way upstairs to the circle seat entrance.

We were both soo excited. We watched the movie, we knew the story line and yet when the lights came on ...I could still feel goosebumps when the big band played its first note!

For a musical, this was must exhilarating indeed! Everybody looked so delciously good, the bodies, the dance moves , it was Sexy Sexy Sexy! and best of all, everbody could sing..and sing REALLY REALLY WELL.

too bad no photography is allowed in the theatre...but yes this is something worth watching "live" at least once.

Thank you for a beautiful enjoyable evening at the theatre chookie!

love love!

Tomb Raider Guppy?

Cambodia Dreaming

Apart from Vietnam and Egypt, the only other place i ever wanted to visit (and havent done so yet ) was Cambodia. Hah I'd scratch that itch by pestering friends who visit these places to send me post cards, or go eat some authentic viet / cambodian / Egyptian grub to try to capture just that taste of exotica...

Check out postcard from Bona , sent to me while she was transiting through cambodia last year... picture of Ta Prohm temple! i shall pose here....

I was so envious...I wanted to see the famous Angkor wat with my own eyes too ...the itch was almost too unbearable when the Tomb Raider movie used Angkor wat as the backdrop of Lara Croft's adventure!

Well, Im happy to announce , thanks to Abi's enthusiasm, for the first time, ive applied for some holiday leave from work -- in advance-- and booked myself on a tour to Cambodia in JUNE!!!! *HOOORAY*

Now I can fulfill my fantasy of standing deep within the ruins of Angkor wat AND Ta prohm!!! ..and pose like Im Lara Croft Tomb Raider HAHAHAHAHAHAH-- ok a rounder but still cool and cute version of Ms Croft ahhahaha

A quick google you will find beautiful scenes of Angkor Wat..in reality vs the Movie Tomb Raider!

Im so excited my happy gupsters, its gonna be sooo easy to dress like Lara Croft . shorts, black tee.. hiking boots...and a pair of shades..no gun? nvm i shall tote a black berry ahhahahaha ! Think im mad? check out this other INSANE tourist who did the same ahahahah

To start off the look, I splurged on a pair of polarised oakleys!

Frame Metallic Black, Lense VR28Black Iridium "Ice Pick" Range muahahah

Now its on with the hunt for a pair of shorts...and black tee...army surplus belt...

Stay Tuned for Junes edition of Tomb Raider Guppy -- Return to Angkor Wat!

Life went by in a blurrr

Havent been blogging as much as i used to.

Mainly coz Id been so busy filling my days with "LOTS" of activities...and well also, nothing much new and exciting to really report hahaha.

For the past 2-3 weeks, My days were filled with work ( duh ofcourse...still gotta pay the bills) , hanging out with friends.. eating,... hah yes you guessed it nothing really new and exciting lah

Some of the highlights include :
eating lots and lots of wanton mee with Moo and Auntie Irene...
Getting a new hair do..Yesh mooo also got a new hair do...it was a day of all new hair raising experiences...

then on another weekend, we went for more...you guessed it ..WANTON MEE again
cant seem to get enough of this noodle dish :Pand yes the wanton mee companion...is moomoo AGAIN!!!! Then ..sweet moomoo accompanied me on my fishie expedition to the Pasir Ris Fishfarms...an activity i used to do with Buoy not too long ago.. god she was like a tourist hahhahaha snapping pics everywhere...and what was most hilarious / horrifying was she could name the fishies!!! like a pro marine enthusiast!

And how did she name the fishies? LIKE THE INSANE FISHVILLE game on Facebook! the stupid game she got all of us hooked on! aaargh! " I know this fish i know this fish..its an email fish....oh this fish, 2 sand dollars! " cries moomoo! Moo bought me 2 shrimps and a mandarin goby for my tank... alas true to Buoy's words fishies didnt survive beyond 2 months..infact mandarin goby died 2 days later...along with the shrimps.. :( sob sobafter fishie adventures...we went for foot reflexology...did our nails..and stuffed our faces with Thai food....all in all it was a pretty girly adventure day hahahacheck out our lesbiany painted nail shot!rest of the week, was just watching kitties play at home...this here is pic of Toffee...staring into =fish tank...plotting how to get his paws on one fishie snack..
Hmmm lets see what else did i do?
Oh yes. Fluffy and I went to sign up to do our PPCDL tests! yes Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License! Mariner Guppy dreams have been revived once again...
I will get that license yet! we had 3 evenings of classess....
where fluffy and i mainly picniced and stuffed our faces with snacks and nuts...Followed by one rainy saturday of pracitcal boat handling class from 830am -130pm at Raffles Marina in Tuas...where we spent hours practising how to rescue a life buoy from the water - man overboard drills...and how to manouvre a power boat...how to berth the boat ...port side...starboard side..
It was thrilling fun indeed! As fluffs and Raymond were in the market for a spanking new boat, they got free tix to Boat Asia and invited me along! i cant wait!
Hmmm what else did i do?
OTHER than the boat license thingy...it was more eating...and merry makingwith friends...
went for Korean BBQ session with Abi and Mooo....
the whole idea was NO carbo..so we wont get fat...but alas..that was ALOT of food!
wrap bbq beef rib in cute lil lettuce leaf! yum! Yes indeedy ..so much to do,...so little time to mope. I booked my PPCDL theory test date on 13th of May..will i succeed this time round? stay tuned true believers!
When i pass this test...I will take us all on an adventure to nearby sisters island / Lazarus island where we can BBQ picnic and booze kissed by the rays of our tropical Singapore sun!

Just One Guppy ...Once Again

And so the cycle begins again

With Porkchop's departure , the trend of constant changes in 2010 continue.....

We all met up for a nice meal , I couldnt feel anything.. I should be hysterical. I should be sad.....but all i felt was just a numbness...a familiar-we've been here before numbness.

Lifes threatening to shift into slow motion....I am almost too afraid to look.

See you later porkchop.

One is a very lonely number indeed.

Mariner Guppy Dreaming...

A moment of sheer coincidence led me to set foot on my dream houseboat!

And oh how it re-ignited my buried dreams of owning and living in one of my very own ....

We were planning a posh party for a couple of important folks , one of the ideas was to take them out on a private yacht, or a superboat in the evening sail around the island, serve up some posh dinner and cocktails. then bring everybody back to harbour again.

We needed a big boat, a posh boat, something glam. so off we headed to Keppel Marina to look at some Superboats.

Keppel Marina was a posh place indeed...i felt it acutely..the difference between the HAVES...and the HAVE NOTS..once again..*envy envy envy* pfffffffttttt

The marina had some restaurants..oddly they were pretty normal stuff, nothing fancy...that could host our party but nope, we wanted a Super boat! muahahha

As we stepped onto the boardwalk...and made our way towards the big boats...i could smell the air...ah eau de ocean. the peace, the views...man ...it was everything i had always dreamed of..

We saw vessels of various sizes, power boats, speed boats...and the ULTIMATE SUPERBOAT...i passed by it ...The WHITE RABBIT and a 2nd smaller WHITE RABBIT , both berthed side by side ....these were the ultimate luxury superboats. 3 storeys high, sorta like 2 huge floating 3 storey condos on water with jetskis, speed boats, ONBOARD the vessel .... Alas this baby was not for hire. it was privately owned...and we couldnt even get on board for a look see...

The last time i saw White Rabbit was while returning from a liveabord Scuba trip on MV Seaborne. at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club. Looks like she's now made her home at Keppel Marina.

OK but this blog is not about the whole host of SUPERBOATS like the White Rabbit or Harbour Queen that i viewed while at Keppel Marina, it was about my chance encounter with .......
......The Serendipity!
a houseboat owned by a nice family who also lives on the Carribean - private condomiums on land by the marina. The Serendipity was everything i dreamed a houseboat should be and more.... i was like a littel excited girl running around snapping pictures .... all the while imagining what it would be like if I could own this baby and live in it....

Imagine : Breakfast in Singapore...lunch in Batam.....Dinner in Indonesian waters....and breakfast the next day again in Phuket!? to live , play and be with my beloved ocean...
That would be such a wonderful life ....dream dream dream
This house boat was available for hire... but alas the boat was too small for our function for 50 it was more of a home than a lux party pad...so it wasnt ideal ...... but it was ideal enough for me ...so when the owner wanted to take us on a tour around their pride and joy...I jumped at the opportunity ...
This is the stern ( back) of the main deck...theres a basement where the kids bedrooms are... which i didnt get to see... but this is the deck with the open kitchen
see the doggie they have on board? the owner was halfway through mopping the floor
the kitchen was equipped with the latest branded kitchen equipment multiple ovens, sinks, a giant refridgerator.
Beside the kitchen was the open living room area cum dining table..where cabinets and shelvings were built in to house the many books the family owns ...
can you imagine the million dollar views...when you are having your meals as your boat is moving through the ocean, or past some remote coastal island...
We then moved to the bow ( front) of the boat...it was the Masterbedroom ...Oh be still my beating heart... they had a moon roof to let in moon light, you could see stars at night...if you wanted... a king sized bed holds court in the centre of the bedroom ....
together with a gym bike... the bedroom then opens up to the master bathroom..which incidentally is the size of my living room ...grrrrr.... has 2 sinks on each side....toilets, and showers...
PLUS this to die for huge designer bathtub right in the centre of the bathroom...
And then we moved upstairs....Where we saw open space that was used for the hosting of parties, gatherings and dinners.. there was a long glass table that could comfortably sit 10 and ofcourse the boat is "captained" from this deck...
just incase i havent mentioned...so far everything is airconditioned in the boat...
stepping just outsied the glass foldable doors from this more formal dining area......we step into the outdoor area...where there was a gian rattan circle chair, a super barbeque pit... and a poolside plastic table...all ready for that ocean view barbeque party experience...
Super duper envy...
can you imagine my happie gupsters...on weekends, friends can come over...we take the boat out for a spin to some nice private beach..., can be in malaysia, indonesia, thailand, anywhere nearby...spend the afternoon drinking beers, while the kids snorkel ,...and the adults scuba..or eat barbeque lunch ?? catch up with family and friends?
what a life! I can die with no regrets if i ever manage to attain this....
The mariner itch....its back again...
gotta get that Pleasure Power Craft Driving License ...grrrrr ( i took it in 2008 and failed) grrr gotta do it again!
Wait for me Serendipity...wait for me...a life on the ocean..wide open spacess.....free as a fishie...out in the blue...
