Happie Ikan + Udang Kechil = Fun

I finally met with Udang Kechil on thursday in Jakarta

One of the perks of travelling for work is you get to catch up with your friends in various countries. Udang came to meet and pick me up at the Ritz at 3pm after my morning meetings..and off we went to the nearby shopping malls to grab some makan!

We were stuck in traffic jams while making our way from the Ritz Carlton to Senayang Mall ..hahhaah basically u can say most of our catching up conversations occured with us in the backseat of our limo cab..:P hwhhaahhaha

took a pic of udang while we were chatting in the cab,,traffic was painfully slow moving .

We ended up picking a local authentic indonesian food joint at the basement of the mall to feed our hungry stomachs!

Its a non spicy non chillied Otah! Guppies love non spicy indonesian delicacies ! Yum!

yes please place your spicy sauces chillies and dips seperately

soup kambing (mutton soup) ..and keropok,,,which udang taught to soak the keropoks into the soup before you eat the keropoks... yummy yummy :D

ayam satay - chicken satay ..tastes soo different to the ones in singapore..dryer less oily and less sweet . followed by grilleed kampong chicken..tiny little scrawny chicken legs grilled to perfection ...:)* mmmmmm

we had delicious ice cream fudge after our heavy dinner at the indonesian restaurant :P thers always room for dessert i say hahahaii had the caramel and coconut flavours mashed with almond nuts while udang had the minty green oneAfter our huge lunch, udang decides to take me to see his home and meet with his family! * joys* first we went off to buy lotsa munchies from breadtalk ..i cant go to people's homes for the frist time without any gifties right ? hee hee

Anyway, when i got to his place everybody was so friendly..and ok a little bit surprised, i did afterall turn up unexpectedly and un announced :P heh heh... met udang's dad, mom, 2 sisters..a dog ..and 2 little maids that clean the house...but didnt get to meet one other sister and brothers

Oh oh oh and the biggest discovery for me - Udang has a spittoon in his bedroom! eeks! no its not used for spit...its used for peeing... after much laughing at him and bullying,. he told me that this spittoon is very useful for when you wake up in the middle of the night and need to go pee..and the loo is too far away.. so you just get up and... ...... .... sigh.funny spittoon...and yes apparently his sisters room has one too ha ha ha ha

We spent some time chatting and camwhoring in the bedroom while waiiting for the family to get ready ..everyone was so sweet...they wanted to take me out to dinner at a posh mall and were scrambling to get dressed up :Dudang udang what have you done to yourself!? nice tribal tattoo is fine but the icky heart shape one?? hahahahhahahaha so funny la! cannot! need to laser that thing off immediately!actually udang and I are about the same height, he's just a tiny bit taller but i bent my knees a little for photographic coolness purposes HAHAHAHHAHAHAudang's sister bought me this real delcious drink from a cafe called excelsor..the taste is amazing - i dont usually drink coffee but this thick concoction has avocado, coffee, milk, ice cream, chocolate shavings.. its just..wow! ..damn i forgot the name of this drink and no you cannot find this in Singapore yay!!!

The whole group of us then had dinner at a japanese ramen restaurant...afterwhich they sent me home to the Ritz in a super cool MPV..hee hee.
