Tastes like Home

13th Feb was Reunion Dinner Night

It was our first reunion dinner since my parents moved into their new place, just my immediate family , everybody sitting down to a simple home cooked dinner something which we havent done in a long time.. mom even made a giant jar of home made lime juice to go with the dinner ...

On the menu of our crowded dinner table :

Stirfried tau kwa (fried beancurd) , leek , mushrooms, pork and tiger prawns!Special non-spicy chicken curry ( yay mom cooks flavourful curry just the way i like it..without too much chilli !) stir fried Scallops with Aparagus , mushrooms and cherry tomatoes Mom's special recipe original Ngor Hiang ( 5 spice powdered sausages) which mom had painstakingly taught me how to make years ago but i havent made one on my own since...coz mom's are still the best! yummyyyy and this wierd addition...century egg with sliced ginger...coz larry said he craved century egg? Giant Steamed fish...dunno wat fish but it was BIG!

There was also stewed pigs trotters with hard boiled eggs and tao pok...( tao yew bak , which i forgot to take pics of) but the table was so full of food there was no where to place the pork..so we took turns to run into the kitcheen to scoop up more of the flavourful stew sauce hee hee

It was a most delicious and enjoyable reunion dinner...just simple fare...cooked with love. everybody crowded around a small dinner table . Just my favourite kind of food...the kind that tastes..like mommy's HOMECOOked yum yums :)
